Source: MarketCheck U.S. rooftop snapshot, imported June 16, 2026, with source updates through July 9, 2026; checked October 5, 2026. We select active franchise records associated with the brand, with valid coordinates, and deduplicate matching locations. Brand tags are source observations, not independent manufacturer confirmation. Multi-brand rooftops may appear on more than one brand page. This is not a live dealer locator or an official franchise census.

The story behind Ram.

A Stellantis truck and commercial-vehicle brand covering pickups, chassis cabs and ProMaster vans.

A truck name becomes its own brand

Ram became a standalone brand in October 2009 after years as a Dodge pickup name. The separation gave trucks and commercial vehicles their own product focus. RamBox bed storage was introduced the same year, showing how the new brand would compete through practical packaging as well as engines.

Work equipment meets a more comfortable cabin

The early standalone years added crew-cab Heavy Duty trucks, chassis cabs, more elaborate interiors and an eight-speed transmission for the 1500. Longhorn and Rebel addressed different owners within the same truck family. Ram Commercial and ProMaster extended that strategy beyond personal pickups into businesses and upfitted work vehicles.

A changing powertrain and performance range

The current retail catalog separates 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups from ProMaster vans. RHO and other performance editions sit inside the 1500 family. Announced electrified trucks should be read as future programs until an orderable production model is confirmed; a concept reveal alone does not establish showroom availability.

A separate Ram identity

The Ram name began identifying a standalone truck brand; this is a company identity change, not a newly invented animal symbol.
