The story behind Dodge.

A Stellantis performance brand whose U.S. site highlights Charger two-door and four-door models alongside Durango.

Suppliers become automobile makers

John and Horace Dodge supplied engines, transmissions and axles before producing their own automobile in 1914. Their work for Ford connected Dodge to the earliest growth of mass-production motoring. The new Dodge car shifted the business from a component supplier to a manufacturer with its own product and customer identity.

Performance becomes the recurring thread

The Red Ram HEMI, Charger and Challenger each contributed to Dodge’s performance reputation. The company also built practical products, including the Caravan, so its history is broader than muscle cars alone. The 2009 separation of Ram allowed the Dodge and truck businesses to develop more distinct identities.

A familiar emblem returns with new propulsion

The 2022 Charger Daytona SRT Concept revived the Fratzog and previewed electric performance. Today’s U.S. catalog centers Charger and Durango, with two- and four-door Charger bodies. Heritage names and badges connect the new range to earlier vehicles, but a concept’s promised technology is not the same as a production specification.

Wordmark and vehicle emblem coexist

The current retail site uses Dodge lettering alongside model-specific badges. These are complementary brand and product identities, not a claim that all previous marks disappeared.
