Source: MarketCheck U.S. rooftop snapshot, imported June 16, 2026, with source updates through July 9, 2026; checked October 5, 2026. We select active franchise records associated with the brand, with valid coordinates, and deduplicate matching locations. Brand tags are source observations, not independent manufacturer confirmation. Multi-brand rooftops may appear on more than one brand page. This is not a live dealer locator or an official franchise census.

196 matching source records; 188 mapped locations after deduplication. Map geography: PublicaMundi U.S. state boundaries. Alaska and Hawaii use separate scales.

The story behind Land Rover.

British luxury and off-road utility vehicles now presented through the Range Rover, Defender and Discovery brand families.

A working vehicle with lasting influence

Land Rover made its public debut at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show. The original utility vehicle was conceived for agricultural and other demanding work, establishing the link between the name and all-terrain capability. Its successive Series vehicles created the foundation for the later Defender family.

Range Rover and Discovery broaden the mission

Range Rover’s 1970 arrival added comfort and refinement to off-road capability. Discovery followed in 1989 with a family-oriented role between utility and luxury. Those distinct product identities explain why today’s portfolio is organized around several recognizable names rather than one undifferentiated SUV range.

A heritage mark within a house of brands

In 2023 Jaguar Land Rover adopted the JLR corporate identity and emphasized Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar as separate brands. It explicitly retained Land Rover as a heritage and trust mark on vehicles, websites and retail sites. The JLR monogram therefore does not simply replace the Land Rover oval.
