The story behind Infiniti.

Nissan’s luxury brand, with a U.S. site focused on premium SUVs and crossovers.

A separate luxury experience within Nissan

INFINITI was developed as a new luxury brand within Nissan and launched in 1989 at 51 U.S. retailers. Q45 and M30 formed the opening range. The company’s history emphasizes a distinct customer experience alongside the products, with the road-and-horizon emblem expressing a brand intended to look forward rather than borrowing the Nissan retail identity.

Sports sedans and performance crossovers

The G35 sedan and coupe expanded INFINITI’s performance identity in the early 2000s. FX offered a sports-car-influenced crossover, while the company introduced technologies such as voice recognition and lane-departure warning. That period matters to the current brand story even though these nameplates are no longer part of its new-vehicle retail lineup.

A utility-focused current catalog

INFINITI’s current U.S. retail range consists of QX60, QX65 and QX80. These vehicles occupy different utility roles, with QX65 adding a distinct body and nameplate alongside the established three-row families. Older sedans and crossover entries remain part of the brand archive, but are separated from the available range rather than being carried forward as current vehicles.
